Chevron Sells Spanish Businesses To Cepsa

Chevron Corp. said Friday it is selling Chevron Espana SA and Chevron Estaciones de Servicio SA to Compania Espanola de Petroleos SA for an undisclosed amount.

SAN RAMON, Calif. (AP) -- Chevron Corp. said Friday it is selling Chevron Espana SA and Chevron Estaciones de Servicio SA to Compania Espanola de Petroleos SA for an undisclosed amount.

The deal includes Chevron's Spanish fuels, finished lubricants and aviation businesses and the Valencia lubricants blending plant.

Compania Espanola de Petroleos, or Cepsa, will own about 62 Texaco-branded service stations in the Canary Islands, its aviation supply agreements at 11 airports, the lubricants blending plant in Valencia, and finished lubricants sales and marketing operations in Spain.

Chevron will retain its marine lubricants business in Spain.

Shares of Chevron lost 20 cents to end Friday at $97.11. In after-hours trading, the stock slipped 6 cents to $97.05.
