President Donald Trump isn't the only politician making the rounds touring American manufacturing sites. Last week, Vice President Mike Pence visited metal fabrication company Tendon Manufacturing in Ohio.

During his visit, Pence spoke to a crowd of 200 about the economy and manufacturing saying President Trump has turned the country around and "America is back." Pence also told the crowd that Trump would be the "best friend manufacturing will ever have."

Shortly after his visit to Ohio, Pence penned a blog post on the White House website claiming that due to Trump's actions, "American manufacturing is getting stronger every day."

Message from Vice President Mike Pence:

President Trump knows just how important manufacturing is to our nation’s success and our people’s prosperity. Companies like Tendon Manufacturing in Cleveland, Ohio, which I visited yesterday, are truly the engine of the American economy and the beating heart of our national life.

Nearly 30 years ago, Tendon Manufacturing got off the ground with only six employees. Today, this company employs more than 75 people in good-paying manufacturing jobs. This business is what America is all about.

President Trump has promised to “set the stage for a great revival” for our factories — to “Buy American and Hire American.” Thanks to this President’s decisive action, American manufacturing is getting stronger every day.

In the first five months of last year, American manufacturers lost 24,000 jobs. But in the first five months of this year, under President Trump, businesses large and small have created more than 600,000 new good-paying jobs — including 55,000 new jobs in manufacturing.

Going back decades, manufacturers have invested in jobs and factories in other countries — but this year, company after company is making record investments worth billions of dollars in this country.

And today, American manufacturers are more optimistic than at any point in the past 20 years.

Confidence is back, and manufacturing is back, because since Day One of this Administration, President Trump has been fighting tirelessly for manufacturers and the men and women who work on factory floors.

This President has signed more laws to slash through red tape than any President in American history to save American business up to $18 billion a year. That’s money they can invest in their workers and their futures.

And this President put America first when he withdrew the United States from the Paris Climate Accord.

As President Trump has said, he was elected to represent the people of Pittsburgh, not Paris – Cleveland, not Copenhagen. By withdrawing our nation from this terrible deal, President Donald Trump put America First — and he always will.

President Trump approved the Keystone and Dakota Pipelines, and he’s rolling back the so-called Clean Power Plan. Under President Donald Trump, the War on Coal is over.

And President Trump is also fighting to make sure that the next generation has more opportunities to pursue a career in manufacturing.

Just two weeks ago, our President signed an executive order to expand apprenticeships and vocational training. Under the leadership of President Donald Trump, I’m confident we’ll train the students of today for the jobs of tomorrow all across America.

President Trump promised to get the American economy moving again — and he’s done exactly that. As I’ve traveled the country on behalf of our President, coming to businesses just like Tendon Manufacturing in Ohio, I see each and every day that President Trump has turned our country around — and America is back.
