Defense Contractor Pays $478K to Resolve Inflated Rates Allegations

The allegations were brought in a lawsuit filed by a former employee.

An aerospace company paid $478,586.49 to resolve allegations of violating the False Claims Act.

Triumph Actuation Systems – Connecticut, LLC allegedly inflated rates charged to and paid by the government on defense contracts.

Triumph has designed and manufactured mechanical and actuation components for U.S. military aircraft and military systems.

The government asserted that Triumph included labor costs that had already been directly charged and paid.

The inflated general and administrative rates resulted in Triumph getting paid twice for the same costs.

Triumph was accused of inflating rates from 2014 to 2020.

The allegations were brought in a lawsuit filed by a former Triumph employee whistleblower.

The whistleblower will receive $90,931.43 as his share of the recovery.
