Aerojet Rocketdyne Expanding in Alabama With State-of-the-Art Facility

The facility looks to bolster the company’s manufacturing capacity for defense production needs.

Aerojet Rocketdyne announced it would build a new manufacturing facility in Huntsville, Alabama.

The 379,000-square-foot location is scheduled to begin operations in 2023.

It will join Aerojet Rocketdyne’s Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Huntsville, which opened in 2019.

The new facility looks to bolster the company’s manufacturing capacity for defense production needs.

Aerojet Rocketdyne said the expansion would involve transitioning inert work at its Camden, Arkansas, site.

However, the transition will allow the Camden location to “support growth of energetics capabilities for defense programs.”

Aerojet Rocketdyne established its Defense Business Unit headquarters in Huntsville in 2016.

The company's Huntsville workforce has grown to more than 800 employees.
