Tesla’s Full Self-Driving Tech Blasted in NYT Ad

Elon Musk clapped back.

Elon Musk is trading blows with a tech founder who used a full-page advertisement in the New York Times to criticize Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology.

Green Hills Software CEO Dan O’Dowd used the space in the Times to say, “We did not sign up our families to be crash test dummies for thousands of Tesla cars.”

Business Insider reports the ad went on to call FSD “the worst software ever sold by a Fortune 500 company.”

Musk clapped back in a tweet that read, “Green Hills software is a pile of trash.”

FSD is an optional add-on to Tesla’s Autopilot, which has been blamed for some collisions and is involved in open NHTSA investigations.

Musk tweeted on Jan. 7 that the FSD price would rise from $10,000 to $12,000.

Earlier in January, Green Hills said in a press release its software technologies were being used to develop driver-assist software in the 2022 BMW iX All-Electric Sports Activity Vehicle.
