Zimmermann (Wixom, MI) announced the FZ rack magazine ZIM Rack, a modular tool changer system for its portal milling machines.
Features:
- Provides compact solution for tool storage and accessibility
- Allows users to expand tool capacity from 60 positions to several thousand, in increments of 30, without increasing footprint or requiring separate storage space
- Supports uninterrupted production by enabling easy access to tools needed for wide range of components and materials
- Stores tools horizontally, which can be removed via a manipulator
- Gives personnel ability to preload tools before shift begins and operate continuously without mid-shift tool changes
- Designed to integrate with Zimmermann’s portal milling machines
