Ferguson announced Tuesday that it has completed its acquisition of valve and flow control distribution FloWorks.

The plumbing and industrial product giant initially announced an agreement to buy FWI Holdings Inc. for about $1.6 billion in July. The transaction closed Monday following the completion of “all customary closing conditions.”

“Together, we strengthen our ability to serve customers across the non-residential market by combining our national scale and distribution expertise with FloWorks’ deep technical capabilities in valves, automation, rotating equipment and fluid handling,” Ferguson CEO Kevin Murphy said in a statement Tuesday.

“Ferguson’s scale, supply chain capabilities and product depth will help us serve customers more efficiently while continuing to deliver the technical expertise and trusted relationships FloWorks is known for,” added FloWorks CEO Scott Jackson.

Ferguson’s industrial operations ranked at no. 15 on ID’s latest Big 50 list.
