A new survey shows that CEOs of the largest U.S. companies are a little more optimistic about the economy's prospects and expect a boost in hiring. The Business Roundtable, an association of chief executives at the 200 largest U.S. companies, released the index.

A new survey shows that CEOs of the largest U.S. companies are a little more optimistic about the economy's prospects and expect a boost in hiring. The Business Roundtable, an association of chief executives at the 200 largest U.S. companies, released the index. Jim McNerney, chief executive of Boeing Co. and chairman of The Business Roundtable, said:

"Our expectations are consistent with an economy that will continue along the path of steady, modest recovery into the first half of 2014."
