Court To Hear Saab's Bankruptcy Appeal

A Swedish appeals court says it will hear automaker Saab Automobile's appeal against the refusal of bankruptcy protection.

STOCKHOLM (AP) -- A Swedish appeals court says it will hear automaker Saab Automobile's appeal against the refusal of bankruptcy protection.

The Gota Court of Appeal said Monday it would prioritize the case and make a decision "within a few days."

The cash-strapped car maker is seeking protection from creditors as it seeks new financing, desperately needed to pay suppliers and staff.

Saab has struggled financially since General Motors Co. sold it in 2010 to the Netherlands-based company that is now called Swedish Automobile.
