Eaton To Acquire E. Begerow

Aerospace and automotive supplier Eaton Corp. has agreed to acquire German liquid filtration system producer E. Begerow GmbH and Co.

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Aerospace and automotive supplier Eaton Corp. said Thursday it has agreed to acquire German liquid filtration system producer E. Begerow GmbH and Co.

Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

Begerow makes systems that filter beer, mineral water, shampoo, paint, pesticides and other products. The Langenlonsheim, Germany-based company employs 270 people and had 2010 sales of more than $84 million.

Cleveland-based Eaton said the acquisition will help it expand its liquid filtration business. Eaton has 70,000 employees and reported sales of $13.7 billion in 2010.

Eaton shares rose $1.30, or 3 percent, to close at $51.45 before the acquisition was announced. After hours, the stock lost 12 cents to $51.33.
