Commercial Vehicle Buying Australian Seat Maker

Heavy truck equipment supplier said Wednesday that it acquired certain assets of Australia-based Stratos Seating for about $2.3 million in cash.

NEW ALBANY, Ohio (AP) -- Heavy truck equipment supplier Commercial Vehicle Group Inc. said Wednesday that it acquired certain assets of Australia-based Stratos Seating, which supplies seats to that country's military, truck and specialty vehicle markets, for about $2.3 million in cash.

Commercial Vehicle said the acquisition both expands its Australian presence in the military and truck markets, as well as boosts the company's overall product offerings.

The New Albany, Ohio-based company said it expects Stratos to post about $5 million in revenue for 2011, with operating income of about $800,000.
