FAA Seeks $1M From Boeing

Federal government says Boeing should pay a $1 million penalty for problems with the emergency oxygen system on its 777 planes.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The federal government says Boeing should pay a $1 million penalty for problems with the emergency oxygen system on its 777 planes.

The Federal Aviation Administration says it found the problems when it inspected nine new planes last year. It found problems with the installation of tubes on the passenger oxygen system.

Boeing Co. has 30 days to respond to the proposed civil penalty.
