CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Carlisle Cos. Inc. has acquired vehicle-parts maker Hawk Corp. for about $413 million, an adviser to Hawk said Monday.
Carlisle paid $50 per share in cash, according to Harris Williams & Co.
Hawk makes friction products for brakes, clutches and transmissions used in airplanes, trucks and heavy equipment. Carlisle makes construction materials and parts for vehicles and the aerospace and foodservice industries.
Shares of Carlisle rose 51 cents to close at $38.79.
