PAOLI, Pa. (AP) -- Aerospace instrument and device maker Ametek Inc. said Tuesday that it has acquired Atlas Material Testing Technology LLC from for $159 million in cash.
Atlas is based in Chicago and makes weather test instruments. Its customers include testing laboratories and aerospace, paint, coating, polymer, plastic, solar, pharmaceutical and vehicle manufacturers. The company was owned by private investment firm Industrial Growth Partners.
Atlas expects 2011 sales of about $85 million.
