BAE Gets $16.3M Army Contract

Defense contractor received a $16.3 million contract to make an additional 44 vehicles for the Army that incorporate technologies to increase protection.

HOUSTON (AP) -- Defense contractor BAE Systems said Monday it received a $16.3 million contract to make an additional 44 vehicles for the U.S. Army that incorporate technologies to increase protection for soldiers from artillery attack.

The contract follows a June award of $24 million to make 63 vehicles.

BAE Systems will produce the vehicles in Sealy, Texas and deliver them by December 2011.
