Winnebago Industries May Acquire Sunnybrook

FOREST CITY, Iowa (AP) -- Winnebago Industries Inc. may possibly buy SunnyBrook Manufacturing Inc., the recreational vehicle maker said Monday.

SunnyBrook, based in Middlebury, Ind., makes towable recreational vehicles under brands including Harmony, Brookside and Edgewater. It also makes travel trailers and fifth wheel trailers.

The potential transaction is part of a plan that Winnebago, based in Forest City, Iowa, announced nearly a year ago in which the company said it would look for ways to diversify its business.

Winnebago has signed a letter of intent with SunnyBrook and has started due diligence in order to formally assess the company. Winnebago expects a deal to be completed by year's end.

The company's stock dropped 34 cents, or 3.4 percent, to $9.67 in afternoon trading. Over the last year, the shares have traded in a range of $8.10 to $17.43.
