Navistar Wins $66 Million U.S. Army Contract

Company said Tuesday it has received $66 million in additional vehicle orders from the U.S. Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command.

WARRENVILLE, Ill. (AP) -- Navistar Defense LLC said Tuesday it has received $66 million in additional vehicle orders from the U.S. Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command.

Under the delivery orders, Navistar will provide 492 general troop transport vehicles, fuel tankers, water trucks and wreckers for use in Iraq and Afghanistan. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in December.

The orders are on top of previous contracts. Navistar Defense said it has provided 30,000 vehicles to the military in the last seven years.

The vehicles will be produced in Tulsa, Okla.; Garland, Texas; and West Point, Miss.

TACOM manages the Army's logistics. Navistar Defense is a unit of truck and engine maker Navistar International.
