BERLIN (AP) -- Luxury car maker Audi AG says its worldwide sales were up 7.7 percent year-on-year in July, led by strong growth in China and the United States.

Audi, a unit of Volkswagen AG based in Ingolstadt, Germany, said Friday it delivered 91,400 cars last month, compared with 84,853 a year earlier.

Deliveries in China were up 53.3 percent at 20,537 vehicles. Audi raised its deliveries in the United States by 22 percent to 7,817.
