NEW YORK (AP) -- Industrial manufacturer Eaton Corp. has reached a preliminary deal with two Chinese companies worth more than $425 million to supply components for a commercial airliner, the companies said Wednesday.
Eaton will supply cockpit panel assemblies and dimming control systems for 2,500 Comac C919 aircraft. The preliminary agreement was reached with Shanghai Aviation Electric Co. and Commercial Aircraft Corp. of China, the companies said.
Eaton said the agreement will boost its presence in China's emerging aerospace market.
Shares of Eaton fell 72 cents to $67.80 in morning trading.
