BRUSSELS (AP) -- The European Union's executive says it has sent cartel charges to nine European makers of mountings for windows and window doors.
Regulators say they have proof that the companies colluded to increase the European sales price for mountings, the mechanical parts that allow windows to open or close and attach the window to the frame.
It did not name any of the companies and says it will hear their defense before making a final decision on fines -- which can amount to up to 10 percent of yearly global turnover.
