3M Acquires Hygiene Products Maker J.R. Phoenix

Company bought J.R. Phoenix, saying that the acquisition will expand its lineup of hygiene and skin care products in Canada.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- 3M Co. has acquired J.R. Phoenix Ltd., saying Friday that the acquisition will expand its lineup of hygiene and skin care products in Canada.

J.R. Phoenix, which makes soaps, hand cleansers, moisturizing creams and other products, sells its hygiene products under the Laura Line brand in Canada.

3M did not disclose the terms of the acquisition.

Shares of 3M fell 53 cents to $80.90 in morning trading.
