Cinram To Cut Jobs In Pennsylvania

Canadian manufacturer of CDs and DVDs says it will lay off 155 employees at its Olyphant, Pa., manufacturing plant after losing Warner Home Video as a customer.

OLYPHANT, Pa. (CP) -- A Canadian worldwide manufacturer of CDs and DVDs says it will lay off 155 employees at its Olyphant manufacturing plant in Pennsylvania after losing Warner Home Video as a customer.

The Toronto-based Cinram International income fund said Thursday that the cuts represent a cross section of its manufacturing operations.

In February, Cinram announced that Warner Home Video would end its contract with the Canadian manufacturer, effective July 31.

Warner represented 28 percent of Cinram's revenue in 2008.

Cinram employs about 13,000 workers at plants in the United States, Mexico, France, Britain and Germany.
