WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) -- DuPont said Friday it plans to buy a minority stake in a Chinese chemical maker for an undisclosed sum.

DuPont said the deal to buy Changshu 3F Zhonghao New Chemical Materials Co., is subject to final agreements and Chinese government approval.

The acquisition will expand DuPont's reach into the fluorochemical market. Fluorochemicals are used in cooling, electronics and personal care products.

DuPont shares fell $1.03, or 2.7 percent, to $37.56 in afternoon trading.
