Boxley Buys 3 Concrete Plants

Concrete maker has acquired two plants from P&T Concrete and one from W&S Concrete as it expands its territory in southwest Virginia.

ROANOKE, Va. (AP) -- Concrete maker Boxley is expanding its territory in southwest Virginia.

Roanoke-based Boxley says it has acquired two concrete plants in Wytheville and Marion from P&T Concrete and one in Abingdon from W&S Concrete. Terms of the deals weren't disclosed.

The Marion plant ceased operations in 2006. Vice President Larry Bullock says Boxley may reopen it in the future.

Boxley has been operating the Wytheville and Abingdon plants since March.

Boxley has eight other plants in Virginia and West Virginia.
