WEST CHESTER, Ohio (AP) -- AK Steel Holding Corp. said Monday that it has informed customers it will add a $345 per ton surcharge to invoices for electrical steel products it ships in June.
The company said its surcharges are related to the reported prices for raw materials and energy required to make its products, which have risen as demand improves.
AK Steel used its April materials purchase cost to set the June surcharge, the company said.
AK Steel shares fell 19 cents to $16.56 in afternoon trading.
