AK Steel Raising Prices

Steel maker said base prices for all new steel orders will increase by $40 per ton hot-rolled products, $50 per ton for cold-rolled products and $60 per ton for coated products.

WEST CHESTER, Ohio (AP) -- AK Steel said Tuesday it will raise prices for all new steel orders.

The West Chester-based steel maker said base prices will increase by $40 per ton hot-rolled products, $50 per ton for cold-rolled products and $60 per ton for coated products.

AK Steel makes flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steels for the auto, appliance, construction, and electrical power generation industries.

Company stock lost 5 cents to $19.50 per share in after-hours trading.
