OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) -- The defense division of Oshkosh Corp. says it has received a military contract worth $281 million.
Oshkosh Defense said Thursday the deal calls for the delivery of more than 2,500 military trucks and trailers.
The Oshkosh, Wis.-based company says it will deliver a number of prototypes by the middle of next year, followed by production vehicles later in the year.
The deal is part of a five-year contract. It involves the production of as many as 23,000 vehicles and trailers.
Shares of Oshkosh jumped $4.03, or 15 percent, to $31.58 in morning trading Thursday.
