CLIFTON, N.J. (AP) -- Defense contractor ITT Corp. said Monday it received a $206 million contract to produce 2,866 additional vehicle systems for the Department of Defense.
The award for additional CREW 2.1 Vehicle Receiver Jammers, used to prevent the detonation of improvised explosive devices, is the third option exercised under a previous $1.04 billion defense contract, ITT said.
The jammers will be built at ITT's electronic systems facility in Thousand Oaks, Calif., and will be deployed to military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, the company said.
Shares of ITT fell 9 cents to $37.37. Earlier in the session, the stock hit a five-year low of $35.81, and is down 43 percent for the year.
