BAE Systems Gets $10.5M Armor Kit Contract

Defense company awarded a $10.5 million contract by Textron Marine and Land Systems to manufacture armor protection kits for armored security vehicles.

CINCINNATI (AP) -- British-based defense company BAE Systems PLC said Wednesday it was awarded a $10.5 million contract to manufacture armor protection kits for armored security vehicles.

BAE Systems was awarded the contract by Textron Marine and Land Systems. The defense and security company will produce 240 protection kits as part of the contract.

The kits manufactured by BAE Systems will be installed on two types of armored vehicles and then delivered to the U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command.

The manufacturing of the kits is being done at BAE Systems' facilities in Phoenix. It will complete the work by July.
