CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Cooling-system maker SPX Corp. said Tuesday it has agreed to sell its GSE Scales product line to Illinois Tool Works Inc. for an undisclosed amount.
The company did not disclose any financial details of the agreement.
SPX said it reported the GSE Scales line, part of its test and measurement segment, as a discontinued operation in the third quarter of 2008.
Illinois Tool Works, based in Glenview, Ill., makes a range of industrial products including packaging and steel and plastic straps.
Shares of SPX rose $1.94, or 4.4 percent, to $45.90 in morning trading, while shares of Illinois Tool Works added 35 cents to $36.62.
