Boeing To Buy Digital Receiver Technology

Aerospace giant’s defense systems unit will acquire Digital Receiver Technology Inc., a maker of wireless surveillance and tracking equipment, for an undisclosed amount.

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Boeing Co. said Friday it will acquire Digital Receiver Technology Inc., a maker of wireless surveillance and tracking equipment, for an undisclosed amount.

Germantown, Md.-based Digital Receiver will operate under Boeing's defense systems unit, which manufactures military aircraft. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the year.

With the acquisition, Boeing is looking to expand its presence in the intelligence market and offer better tools to its military and law enforcement clients.

Digital Receiver has about 370 employees.
