WEST CHESTER, Ohio (AP) -- AK Steel Holding Corp. said Friday it is raising the spot market prices for carbon steel products by $75 per ton for all new orders, effective immediately.
AK Steel said that the higher price stems from increased demand for carbon steel products, as well as the need to recover ''unprecedented'' increases in steelmaking inputs.
Shares rose $2.50, or 4 percent, to $65.43 in afternoon trading.
