Nebraska Window Company Cuts 23 Jobs

Custom door and window maker in Lincoln has laid off 23 workers while investors in Window Technologies try to find new financing for the business.

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- A custom door and window maker in Lincoln has laid off 23 workers while investors in Window Technologies try to find new financing for the business.

CEO Don Howarth says he hopes the business will be able to resume operations within a month, once the investors receive new financing.

Howarth says the building market has slowed down, and that has made it tough for Window Technologies.

Howarth told the Lincoln Journal Star the 23 workers hadn't been paid before they were laid off, but he had expected them to be paid soon.

It was not immediately clear what the workers had been doing for the company, and no one answered the phone at the business Friday morning.
