JEANNETTE, Pa. (AP) — Union workers at a major Westmoreland County manufacturing plant have a new three-year contract.
Workers at Elliott Co. in Jeannette approved the contract Sunday. It is the first new contract for 300 production, maintenance, office and clerical workers since June 2004.
The workers will get $1,100 signing bonuses, plus a four-percent raise the first year and three-percent raises in each of the last two years of the contract.
Union officials say the average wage before the contract was $20.50 an hour.
Elliott makes turbines and compressors for the petrochemical industry.
