Chrysler-Plastech Ruling Expected Next Week

Federal bankruptcy judge in Detroit is expected to rule on Tuesday over Chrysler LLC's efforts to retrieve equipment from key supplier Plastech Engineered Products Inc.

DETROIT (AP) — A federal bankruptcy judge in Detroit says he'll rule next week on Chrysler LLC's efforts to retrieve equipment from key supplier Plastech Engineered Products Inc.

Judge Phillip Shefferly has been hearing the case, and the Detroit Free Press says a ruling is expected Tuesday.

The Dearborn-based auto parts maker filed for bankruptcy protection this month after Chrysler said it was severing business with it.

Chrysler says it needs the equipment so it can have the components made elsewhere.

Four Chrysler plants closed briefly last week when Plastech stopped shipping parts. It resumed sending parts under an agreement that expires Friday.

Plastech supplies about 500 components for nearly all Chrysler's vehicles.
