Hasbro Acquires Game-Maker Cranium

Toy maker said it completed its acquisition of Cranium Inc. for $77.5 million.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Toy maker Hasbro Inc. said Friday it completed its acquisition of Cranium Inc. for $77.5 million.

The acquisition was announced earlier this month. At the time, Hasbro Chief Operating Officer Brian Goldner said the deal would allow Hasbro to maximize the Cranium brand and expand it in international markets.

Cranium, based in Seattle, is best known for its Cranium board game, which requires players to hum, draw and sculpt their way to the top.

Hasbro owns board-game brands Parker Brothers and Milton Bradley, which make Scrabble, Clue, Monopoly and other board games.
