PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Specialty chemicals maker Rohm and Haas Co. said Tuesday it will buy OY Forcit AB's paint emulsions unit for about 60 million euros ($89.1 million).
Rohm and Haas said the purchase of Hanko, Finland-based OY Forcit's Finndisp division will allow it to broaden its market presence in the region.
The transaction includes a manufacturing plant in Hanko and a facility being constructed in Moscow, which is expected to be completed in March.
Rohm and Haas anticipates the Finndisp unit will add sales of about 40 million to 50 million euros ($59.4 million to $74.2 million) for the year.
The acquisition is expected to close by the end of the first quarter.
