WEST CHESTER, Ohio (AP) — AK Steel Holding Co. said Wednesday it will raise spot market prices for its carbon steel products by $50 per ton for all new orders accepted for shipment on Feb. 1 and later, citing increased demand and higher costs for raw materials.
The price hike is in addition to a previously announced increase of $30 per ton for carbon steel products, which is also effective with Feb. 1 shipments.
Shares fell 49 cents to $37.81 in morning trading.
