FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — An automotive parts supplier plans to move its California operations to Fort Wayne, creating 145 new jobs by 2011.
Gardena, Calif.-based HSAC Acquisition Corp., which does business as Hi-Shear Automotive, plans to begin operations in Fort Wayne by mid-2008. The company is a supplier to Ford Motor Co., General Motors Corp. and Chrysler LLC.
Hi-Shear, which specializes in manufacturing wheel bearing retainer nuts and brake cable tension limiters, plans to invest more than $5 million to relocate its manufacturing operations to a 34,000 square-foot facility in the northeastern Indiana city. The company plans to start hiring assembly workers, managers and others next year.
