RTI International Signs Boeing Supply Agreement

Company to supply Boeing Co. for 10 years with extruded, welded and fully machined structural titanium components for the 787 Dreamliner.

NILES, Ohio (AP) — RTI International Metals Inc., which produces titanium mill products, said Monday it signed a 10-year contract to supply Boeing Co. with extruded, welded and fully machined structural titanium components for the 787 Dreamliner.

The pact is expected to generate more than $900 million in revenue from 2008 through 2017.

RTI's fabrication & distribution group will serve in the lead role on the PAX Floor Pi-Box Seat Track program. The company's Houston and Montreal plants, as well as multiple supply chain partners, will support production of the finished titanium components used for the seat tracks in the Boeing 787's floor structure.

RTI said it will recognize modest revenue from the agreement next year, with revenue expected to ramp up in the second half of 2009. The contract should hit full rate by mid-2010, generating revenue of more than $100 million per year.
