MOUNT PLEASANT, Tenn. (AP) -- Sixty-five people are losing their jobs at the Pretty Products plant in Mount Pleasant, which makes car floor mats.

The layoffs represent one-third of the 190 employees at the Maury County facility.

Officials blamed the downturn in the automotive industry.

Mount Pleasant City Manager Richard Goode says the overall economy in the city is doing "quite well" despite the layoffs.
