Boeing Gets Navy Growler Deal

Plane maker's McDonnell Douglas Corp. received a $206.7 million contract to begin production of airborne electronic attack kits for 18 EA-18G Growlers.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Boeing Co.'s McDonnell Douglas Corp. received a $206.7 million contract boost from the Navy to begin production of airborne electronic attack kits for 18 EA-18G Growlers, the Pentagon said late Thursday.

Boeing's Growler is an electronic attack version of the Air Force's two-seat F-18F Super Hornet that will be used to replace the Navy's Prowler.

Shares of the Chicago-based company fell 82 cents to $56.64 in morning trading Friday.
