Air Products & Chemicals Raising Prices

Industrial gases and equipment supplier raising prices on some of its liquid and bulk products next month or as contracts allow due to rising costs and capital investment needs.

LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. (AP) -- Air Products & Chemicals Inc. said Monday it will raise the prices on some of its liquid and bulk products next month or as contracts allow due to rising costs and capital investment needs.

The industrial gases and equipment supplier will boost prices on liquid oxygen and liquid nitrogen by 8 percent and liquid argon and liquid and bulk hydrogen by 12 percent. Liquid and bulk helium prices will go up by 15 percent to 30 percent, the company said.

Air Products & Chemicals said the price hike was necessary partly because of increasing material, labor and energy costs.

Shares of Air Products & Chemicals added 34 cents to $87.34 in morning trading.
