Waterjet Equipment Maker Gets Airbus Contract

Flow International, which makes industrial waterjet machines for cutting and cleaning, received a contract from European aerospace company Airbus.

KENT, Wash. (AP) -- Flow International Corp., which makes industrial waterjet machines for cutting and cleaning, said Thursday it received a contract from European aerospace company Airbus.

Flow did not disclose specific financial terms of the "multimillion dollar" contract.

Flow will make and install multiple Composite Machining Center abrasive waterjet and routing machine tool systems over the next 18 to 24 months for use in making the new Airbus A350 XWB aircraft.

Engineering and manufacturing for the waterjet machines will take place at Flow's Jeffersonville, Ind., facility.

Airbus is owned by European Aeronautic Defence and Space Co.
