Cenveo Seals Purchase of Commercial Envelope

Federal antitrust regulators OK acquisition for undisclosed amount.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal antitrust regulators have cleared printing company Cenveo Inc.'s purchase of Commercial Envelope Manufacturing Co. for an undisclosed amount.

Stamford, Conn.-based Cenveo announced the transaction last month. The acquisition of the Deer Park, N.Y.-based envelope maker is expected to close in October.

Cenveo Chairman and Chief Executive Robert Burton said in July that the deal will enhance the company's direct mail service and complement existing operations. Cenveo plans to continue making strategic acquisitions of niche businesses, he added.

The Federal Trade Commission included the deal on a list of transactions Monday that received ''early termination'' of their antitrust reviews. Early termination refers to the completion of a review before the end of a 30-day period required under antitrust law.
