Ford's European Sales Up 11 Percent

For the year so far, automaker sold 1.1 million vehicles, 56,600 more than the same period last year.

FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) — Ford Motor Co.'s European division said Friday that it sold 149,200 cars and commercial vehicles in July, up almost 11 percent compared with the same month last year.
 
Ford of Europe's market share rose by 0.6 percentage point from a year ago to 8.7 percent, the company said in a statement.
 
For the year so far, the company sold 1.1 million vehicles, an increase of 56,600 compared with the same period last year.
 
The Focus was Ford's top-selling model in July, with sales totaling almost 43,000. The Fiesta followed with 27,500 units, some 3,500 up on the same month last year. Ford of Europe's newest models, the Mondeo, C-MAX, S-MAX and Galaxy also continued to attract an increasing number of customers.
