Essar Global Acquires Algoma Steel For $1.85B

Algoma will see new growth opportunities, as well as improved technological and engineering practices.

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ontario – Essar Global announced Thursday that it has completed its acquisition of Algoma Steel Inc. for $1.85 billion.

Ontario-based Algoma Steel is an integrated steel producer.
