Olin Buys Pioneer For $415.8 Million

Combined companies would have a broader distribution network.

CLAYTON, Mo. - Olin Corp. said Monday that it will acquire Pioneer, which produces chlor-alkali products for $415.8 million.

The transaction will be completed in the second half of 2007.

“The combined companies will have a more diversified geographic footprint, a complementary bleach and HCL product mix and a broader distribution network,” said Joseph D. Rupp, Olin Chairman, President and CEO.

For 2006, the companies’ combined chlor-alkali businesses had revenues over $1.1 billion.
