L-3 Announces Two Acquisitions

A UAV and a SATCOM company will be added to its Specialized Products segment.

L-3 Communications announced Monday that it has acquired Geneva Aerospace, Inc., a provider of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology.

L-3 also announced the acquisition of Global Communications Solutions, Inc. (GCS), a provider of portable satellite communications equipment and products.

Texas-based Geneva Aerospace’s products include advanced flight control systems, communication systems, control stations, software and systems integration services. For the year ending December 31, 2007, the company is expected to have annual sales of $12 million.

GCS is based in New York and provides satellite communications (SATCOM) systems that integrate data, broadband internet, telephony, multimedia, audio, video and computer networking. GCS is expected to have annual sales of $90 million for the year ending December 31, 2007.

Both companies will become part of L-3’s Specialized Products segment.
