Vestar Buying Detergent Manufacturer Huish

Dan Huish will remain as CEO, headquarters will remain in Utah, and employees will not be affected by the acquisition.

Vestar Capital Partners said Friday it will acquire Huish Detergents, a manufacturer of private-label laundry detergent and fabric softeners in North America.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Huish has 2,300 employees in Utah, Tennessee, Kentucky and Texas and annual sales of $1 billion. Headquarters will remain in Salt Lake City, Utah, and employees will not be affected by the transaction. Huish CEO Dan Huish will remain as CEO and retain a minority stake in the company.

Vestar Capital is an international private equity firm that focuses on companies in the U.S., Europe and Japan that are valued between $100 million and $5 billion.
